Ed Van Buskirk (Center) is the Founder and Executive Director of If U Love Me. Ed’s corporate experience includes software engineering with Burroughs Corporation, consulting services with Digital Equipment Corporation and manager of Sprint’s World Headquarters Data Center. In 1996, Ed left the corporate world and founded We Are IT, which provided managed IT support services for small businesses. With the intention and purpose of founding If U Love Me, Ed sold We Are IT in 2017 and founded If U Love Me in 2018. Ed has held various business, religious and cultural leadership roles with a variety of organizations including the National Speakers Association, American Club Association, St. Thomas More, Boy Scouts of America and Optimist International. Jim Kafka (Left) served as a U.S. Naval aviator commander from 1967 to 1973, flying weather reconnaissance for the East Coast Navy and commercial fleets and handling all incoming and outgoing classified documents for his squadron. Jim worked for five years as a commercial real estate broker and then became the owner and CEO/COO of Martin Mechanical Contractors, a commercial/industrial contracting company where he worked for forty years. He has been involved with Catholic men’s organizations in various capacities from founding member to simple support staff. Jim graduated from the University of Missouri in1967 with a bachelor of arts degree.
Aaron Swanner (right) holds a bachelor degree in biology from the University of Central Missouri and currently works in the home mortgage business. Through 20+ years working in various leadership roles in Boy Scouts of America, Aaron has mentored hundreds of young men in their spiritual and character development. Aaron and his wife Lyndsey are looking forward to the birth of their first child in the fall of 2020 and their desire is to cultivate a home and community that follows Christ and loves unconditionally. Their desire is that when people are around them, they experience Jesus.
Upon completing her degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1985, June established her own successful private clinic, Rogers Chiropractic Clinic in Kansas City Missouri, from 1985 through 2014. She holds a specialty license as a Certified Insurance Reviewer and serves on the National Board of Examiners. Among her many volunteer services, June has worked as a Prison Prayer Minister at Lansing Correctional in Lansing Kansas and as a Stephen Minister through Vineyard Church. June regularly volunteers her professional acupuncture services to clients at the Keeler Women’s Center in Kansas City Kansas, and she volunteers her acupuncture services in the recovery of human trafficking victims at Restoration House in Harrisonville Missouri and at Rended Heart in Grandview Missouri.
Barb is Ed’s wife and the mother of their three children. Since becoming a registered nurse in 1993 she has spent much of her career providing care for women before, during and after delivery of their babies. Other nursing care she has provided includes caring for cancer patients, hospice patients and assisted care patients at Little Sisters of the Poor. Her most recent work has been as an ultrasound nurse at a local pregnancy resource center. Barb’s wisdom as a trusted advisor, working alongside Ed and the other Board members, is highly valued.
